Who's Who of Retail
Date: Jun 20 2008, 09:41 PM
So I think now is a good time to get this sites blog rolling and well today I am going to talk about a site I came across.
With there being so many retailer sites on the net it can be hard to figure out which one to go for and well they are all good in their own way and I plan to give my opinion on each of them as I come across them and today's site that is up for discussion is FX Video Cards (http://fxvideocards.com).
FX Video Cards website was established on September 4th 2007 so it's a fairly new site on the scene and looks to be located in the Atlanta area but the staff themselves have over 15 years of industry experience and from chatting with a few of them a real love for the graphics industry. Its nice to see guys that actually know what they are talking about and keep up with the latest tech and what's to come versus those standard customer service people that look at those giant detective like novels trying to answer your questions.
As I started going through the whole It's nice to I was impressed, these guys cover everything that deals with Video cards, from your everyday system to your researcher, designer, engineer, and avid gamer, they have it all and what's really impressive is that they take care of even the guys with old school systems, they have new and they refurbish older discontinued graphics cards to help keep your trusty old system up and running. They even carry capture cards and tv tuner cards for those wanting to turn their systems into their own Home Theater PC (HTPC).
Now lets talk green, their prices are very competitive even to some of the best known dealers on the net, many of the cards I looked at was around on average $5-10 dollars cheaper then the competition, I even saw a few that were $30 cheaper which is just nuts, their shipping and handling fees are also very reasonable.
Alright lets take a look at the nitty gritty and that's their return and warranty policy, straight from the horses mouth;
- Products shipped by FXvideocards comes with a limited 30 day warranty. FXvideocards warrants these products to be from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of 30 days from the date of shipment. So if you took the time to actually read that you would find that their policy is more than reasonable compared to other retailers and has the customers in mind when it comes to taking care of them.
Okay so you have heard a lot of positives to come from me and I don't want you thinking that Im all one sided so with the good there is some bad.
So here goes, there is one thing that I don't care for about the site and that is their lack of filtering when searching for certain products. Sure you get categories to choose from but from there you cant fine tune your category even further. I find the lack of this feature is greatly needed for making it easier to find what your looking for versus going through the possible pages and pages of video cards.
Other then that this site has been very pleasant to visit and I plan to do a follow up on this article after I have ordered some products from there to see how that whole experience went. This has been my little who's who of retail blog, expect to see more from me on another retailer soon.
