Well I had a few request to do this build and heck I myself wanted to do this after seeing a different "Ruby" themed build at which I felt
was nothing more then some really nice etch work on the side of a case, ya there was a little more to it but it didnt feel like a theme so
I took it upon myself to work one out and I think it will be a lot of fun.

The main focus of this build is that this will be built around the AMD Spider Platform, of course the main colors in this build will be once
again black and red, ya I know... I know, do I have a thing for black and red or what lol.

The case I have chosen for this build is the Lian-Li PC-A05B I went with this case after checking out zero2dash review on that case,
I liked how compact it was and the layout and it still gave me plenty of room to work with. ^_^

Sample Render Concept Images:
These images provided by zero2dash then modified by Race234

In this image we have the front of the case, I want to go with simple clean lines, nothing to over the top but lets you know what it is
and seeing how the Lian-Li's have such a clean and fantastic front I didnt want to pull away from that so I plan to do an etch to
expose the silver aluminum underneath the black with the build logo and leave the Ruby in the silver and the RED will be etched and then coated Red.

Image

This is a rendering of the right side of the case that will have a custom cut window and red acrylic molding to outline the window,
along with the etching of the build logo.

Image

Here is a render of the left side of the case which shows how the MCR220-QP 2x120mm Rad will be mounted to the top of the case and
also showing the custom panel wrap that I will get made to apply to the side panel.

Image

Alternative Left Side Panel with hardware vendors listed and a Different Ruby Image. (Original Image from NewEgg.com, like you couldnt tell lol)

Image

In this image we see the internal 3.5" HDD cage, what I plan to do is pull that out and modify it to hold one hard drive flipped on its side and the DD D5 Pump next to it.

Image

Here is a quick render of where the rad will be located on the top of the case and the custom grill that will be made (Grill design not finalized just a general idea) and
the bottom of the case will be vented not sure at this time if I will add fans or not but there will be a grill of the same style on the outside and inside of the
case to keep the lines clean.

Image

Hardware and Water Cooling Loop Layout:
Water Cooling Loop coolant flow direction is ordered by number, 1 to 2 to 3 and so on....

If you are referring to the sides of the case, yes one picture is of one side of the case and the other the opposite side of the case ;)

Update: I changed the plans of this build slightly, instead of using 1 dual 120mm rad and 1 single 120mm rad I have decided to use 2 dual 120mm rads and place them inside of the case instead of being on the outside of the case.

I will be posting pictures shortly....

I have the power supply and lower radiator installed, I am using Yate Loons 120mm fans for the lower rad because they have good dBa to CFM ratio and the fact that they are 20mm tall instead of 25mm, in other words most 120mm fans are 120x120x25+, these are 120x120x20mm so that slight decrease made is so that I could have them installed on the inside of the system but still come right below the lowest point on the motherboard.

Image

Image

oh and ya its a tight fit BUT its fitting ^_^

As for the lack of the 120mm fan in the rear, I have another Yates Loon fan coming in that will be installed there.

well I drilled out the rivets holding the drive cage on the lian li and removed the lian li fan and then installed the silenX fan there and then re-riveted the drive cage back into place and I went ahead and installed the CoolJag fan in the rear of the case and man talk about a tight fit.

Image

so now all the lower fans are installed and in place, next will be mounting and installing the top rad into place.

I revised the renders, showing the top fans on the case, these fans will be painted black and the fan blades will be painted red.

Also went ahead and put some hardware inside the case to give an idea of what to expect, I plan to modify the hard drive cage to to hold the raptor on its side to show it off threw the window.

Image

In the above image you will see a dark gret bar across the bottom of the case right below the memory slightly covering the clips that hold the memory in, this is to demonstrate how tall the rad with the fans on top are to relation to the motherboard, as you can see I still have access to the cpu and although it may appear otherwise but I will still be able to access the ram without any issues as I have almost 2" of clearance between the memory socket and rad.

yes that pretty green spacer will be painted Red, I know I know lol if I could have gotten it in red I would have but for my plans I need it to be a solid color not transparent like that.

Im going big with this rig so my choice will be the Radeon HD 4870 X2 (2 x RV770). The price is a real kick in the pants but it will certainly be kickass.

Its actually Red and Black but the camera flash tweaks the color a bit.
I plan to have red lighting inside the case so thats why this time around I didnt paint the inside, not to mention Lian Li did such an amazing job polishing the aluminum I didnt want to take that away. ;)

I do like Nascar ;) well I ordered some silencing stuff for use with the top fans and rad as soon as those come in I will install the top fan, I also ordered 4 feet worth of round hole modders mesh for use with the new design hard drive cage and lower rad shroud, all of this should be here by the 29th.

Then once that is done I will start working on the side window and then the lighting for the rig.

alright here is a shot of that modders mesh I was talking about

Image
Image

Now I have enough here for the custom HDD cage, and lower Rad Cover, I probably will have enough left to make an upper rad cover for the bottom of the top Rad and some left over for accent parts.

Question is do I paint them red or black, or try to shine up that steel to have a shine similar to the polished aluminum parts.

alright still deciding if I should paint it and if so what color but in the mean time, I almost have the rad cover done, I have to still drill out where the barbs will go through but you get the idea, oh and that cable you see there going over the fans that wont be there lol, Im still working on the custom Hard Drive Cage but thats soon to come, I have the next three days off so I should be able to get some things done to it, I should also be getting the stuff I need to mount the top rad so that will be coming up shortly too.

Thanks, Well I had a thought, I decided well Im thinking about ditching the top IO Panel and in its place installing a Res at the top, now the res would be slightly elivated to clear the lower optical drive but an Acrylic red filler plate of the shape shown would fill the gab, it would be just as thick as the plate below the fans.

Image

I also ordered a DD fill port but I wont have room for both the Res, Rad, and Fill Port to fit, so what I have decided to do is, Im going to take that clear dome top of the res and tap the center of it and make it so that the res is also a fill port. Pic of all that work will be taken so you can check out the process. ^_^
