Has anyone been playing this game? I bought it when it came out and cannot stop playing it. It is much better than the first, more streamlined and generally more interesting. I love the art style and places the game takes you. So far, I have only made a Solider but my next play through will be with the Infiltrator.

I've heard many good things about it, but didn't play it myself yet. Not very fond of the idea of $50 games but will definitely give it a shot later this year.

I was in the same boat about the money, especially after upgrading. But even after playing for a few hours, I can say that it is definitely worth the money, as are most BioWare games.

I also have a small, not always followed, policy of not buying a game unless it has a Demo. It's really a shame, as demos can easily make you want to buy something. Let me try out the game. If you firmly believe it's good, you won't have any issues with giving me a level or two to play - hell, even 30 minutes should give a person a good enough example of the game.

Torchlight is a good example. I wasn't really going to buy the game, but the demo was about an hour+ in length and by the end of it I was so hooked I didn't even think twice about dropping $20 for it. Sure, $20 isn't much compared to $50 or $60 for a full retail game, but it still shows a demo can influence people. I also played the batman demo and was nearly ready to drop $50 on it. Unfortunately, I bought some games recently before and couldn't necessarily afford to. But the moment I get some extra cash and in a gaming mood I'll be picking up Batman fo' sho'.

Seeing as Bioware strongly believes in Mass Effect 2 and thinks they did the right improvements I don't see why they could be shy about releasing a PC Demo.

I agree, perhaps one of your friends purchased the game and you can try it out on their computer?

Every review I've seen on ME2 tells me it is nothing like ME1. In fact, they all seem to agree that ME2 is more like an FPS than an RPG, which saddens me greatly.

The combat is more FPS oriented but there are still plenty of RPG elements. As a matter of fact, everything but the combat screams BioWare RPG. The dialogue is excellent and there are tons of nooks and crannies to explore. If you even liked the first one a tiny bit, you will love this one. I thought I would hate not having an inventory but it works so well and it's so streamlined that it lets you focus on the story and exploration.

I'm loving it a LOT more than I liked ME1.

I like the option of carrying more feature in the impact of mass of the universe, but this is some glitches and I would like to point out and hopes that Bioware is watching and ready to update the overall impact 2. Characters of Mass Effect 2 is the real power driving. Featuring the all-star cast including: Martin Sheen, Seth Green, Keith David, Tricia Helfer, Michael Hogan, Mass Effect 2 delivers both diverse and deep characters.

I got ME2 for $29.95 on D2D a few weeks back. It's a good game, although the 'survey the planets for minerals' mining mini game is pretty lame. I'm a bit disappointed with having to buy fuel and probes for the ship and finding ammo and heatsinks for weapons. I also do not care for having to purchase, using real-world money, additional clothing sets for myself and NPCs. I can see buying things in-game, but using creds and not cash. I do like the slimmed down skill sets, though.
