Noctua NF-P14 FLX 140mm Fans
Noctua changed up the appearance of their packaging. Before it was a very dark packaging using their trademark brown coloring, but now they swapped out the dark for a nice light-colored elegant-looking box. The front highlights the fan through the clear window and to the right of the window a basic list of what the fan's design and capabilities are.
For the back of the packaging, Noctua still use their traditional brown color and list all the features of the fan. There is also a tab that you pull which folds out an additional panel that shows the specifications and how to install the fan inside your case. If your curious as to what all that information says on the box we go over it all in more detail on the next page.
Here we have a picture of everything that comes in the packaging, which includes:
- NF-P14 140mm Fan
- 3-pin to 4-pin adapter
- (2) Fan Speed Adapters
- (4) Standard Fan Screws
- (4) Vibration Compensator
- (4) 140mm Adapter Plates
In the second picture we have the 3 to 4 pin power adapter, below and to the left we have the four Vibration Compensators, which if you choose to not use the mounting screws can install the fans with those. Followed by four adapter plates to allow the fan to go from 120mm mounting to 140mm mounting, then the already mentioned 4 installation screws and below all of that the two fan speed adapter.
The two fan speed adapters, the U.L.N.A., which drops the RPM to 750 and the L.N.A. which drops the RPM to 900. These adapters have a resistor in-line that reduces to the current to the fan causing the rotation of the fan to decrease producing less CFMs and lower dBa (noise).
This third picture demonstrates how the 140mm mounting adapter plates would work with this fan, they would go on the end like so and then be secured into place with the included mounting screws, then you would use the vibration compensator to then mount the fan to the 140mm location thus securing this 140mm fan to a 140mm fan location.
