Simple, clean, and powerful are the three words I would use to describe the box for the NH-D14 CPU Cooler. All of Noctua's products come in a very clean box without any flashy text or graphics, yet they are able to communicate a "you want to buy me; I'm shiny!" message to you. The box for the NH-D14 does just that, with the small cutout window on the front of the box to gives you a small tease. The front of the box also lists the key features of the heatsink. The right side has a number of measurements, as well as what's included, while the left side has a description of the heatsink in six languages.

Continuing to the back of the box, you'll find a description of the product in English, as well as a more detailed description of the key features that were located on the front. The top of the box lists the rest of the specifications for the heatsink and the included NF-P14 and NF-P12 fans. Oh, and while the last picture may look like a cute emoticon ( <(o.o)> ) with a hat, it's actually the unique packaging found inside.

Although the holes do look like eyes of the mentioned emoticon, they are actually holes included by Noctua so you can easily pull out the packaging. Pretty nifty, eh? Unlock the two linked halves and pull up. It's possible to rip the tabs, unfortunately, due to the weight of the heatsink. I'd recommend using both hands to be safe. Once the unit is removed from the box, you'll notice that the heatsink is suspended between the foam blocks - and it’s the good soft foam that doesn't get all over your carpet and arms like Styrofoam does.
