DoubleSight DS-305W
The box that arrived at our door was simply HUGE. We had to remind ourselves what size monitor we were dealing with. Granted, 30 inches isn't exactly tiny to begin with but the box that surround this monitor was a good 6 inches larger, which is very reassuring as well. Our fine postal service workers aren't to well known for their delicate handling and on further inspection we were happy to see that this monitor made it in one piece. Focusing back on the packaging for this monitor, it was very well laid out with all the details in an easy to read fashion while also showing off the monitor itself which made us even more eager to rip into the box and get started playing... I mean reviewing.
Now lets break down what you get inside this massive packaging a side from the monitor; that will come later. First up is the very small and very simple users manual, which we won't go into detail on as it pretty much says power goes here and DVI plug goes there, along with a list of supporting graphics cards that have dual link DVI capabilities.
Next up is the accessories and from left to right: we have the Dual-link DVI cable which allows you to achieve those very impressive 2560x1600 resolution. With out it, you would be limited to 1280 x 800. Next is the power cable that goes from your wall outlet to the AC Power brick, which is pictured next to the power cable. And lastly, we have a close up of the power cable. Whoops! It would appear that we received a Korean style plug instead of an American style plug, but no worries! It uses a standard power cable (similar to that on your PC's power supply) which we have plenty of laying around that we can quickly substitute, when we contacted Doublesight about this issue they assured us that this is only an issue with the review samples sent out and that the retail versions will have the correct power cable for the region it is sold in.
